Internship earliness trial project
Meijer Potato is a family business company active in the variety breeding, production and global trade of seed potatoes. Thanks to its innovative approach, Meijer is one of the leading potato breeders and potato seeds traders in Europe. The company is present in the Netherlands and France and has subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Spain, Turkey and Poland. Sustainability, long-term development, quality and partnership with its customers are the pillars of the Meijer Potato company.
In order to face new climatic and regulatory challenges, we are setting up a yearly “earliness trial” in order to test our varieties and new candidates on which we need an internship support.
About the trial
The central goal of this trial is to determine how early are the new candidates in reaching the marketable size, the dry matter and achieving good frying color and stable sugars.
Your mission in this project will be to follow the “earliness trial” by: visiting the trial, reporting remarks, weekly harvesting samples, grading, dry matter evaluation, doing frying/crisping tests, measuring sugars contents and analyzing the data.
